On 7 and 8 August, a number of English students travelled to Warrambui for the annual Campbell High Writers' Camp. Students focussed on digital story telling after participating in a workshop with Ms Eulea Kiraly from the Tuggeranong Arts Centre. They had quality time to write their own personal writing pieces and enjoyed a mini Olympics on the Friday morning. All the students, Ms Flaherty and Dr Foster thoroughly enjoyed the experience of writing in such a beautiful and tranquil setting.

Four Hospitality students (Gordon, Drew, Caitlin and Eilish) entered the Culinary Competition at CIT on Tuesday 1 July. This was the first time that Campbell High had entered and our students came away with Bronze and Silver medals. There were 19 teams representing their schools and the large proportion were from colleges, so our students with only 18 months Hospitality experience performed admirably.

During Week 4 of Term 2, students and staff celebrated Amazing Asia Week. They participated in workshops, competitions, an excursion. The school assembly in Week 5 was the culmination of a wonderful week of experiences and showcased the talents of our students. For a full report, look at page 8 of the June Bagpipe, our newsletter. A number of students participated in an excursion to Cowra where they visited the Visitor's Centre (Cowra Breakout hologram show), the Japanese Gardens, the Peace Bell and the Japanese POW cemetery. For photos, look at page 12 of the July Bagpipe.
On 24 June, a team of year 7 students participated in the Da Vinci Decathlon (an academic gala day for years 7 and 8) at Canberra Grammar School. 21 schools from the government and private sector participated. During the day, students participated in sessions such as Engineering Challenge, Art and Poetry, Science, Games of Strategy, Mathematics, Forensic Sleuths, English, General Knowledge, Code Breaking and Media. Our students did not win any prizes this year but they had a wonderful day and learnt a lot for next year's competition. So watch out, Canberra!
