Welcome message from the Principal
Welcome to Campbell High School. Our school provides quality educational programs for students in years 7- 10. We have a proud tradition of academic, sporting and artistic excellence and we are committed to encouraging students by nurturing positive self-esteem that values personal achievement.
Sited adjacent to the Australian War Memorial, Campbell High School's committed staff, relevant curriculum and quality resources provide students with rich opportunities to participate in a vast range of co-curricular activities such as Tournament of Minds, chess, debating, band and sport.
Our Student Leadership Team and the Student Representative Council (SRC) fosters student involvement in school governance and decision making while developing student leadership potential.
Gifted and Talented students are catered for in our Challenge Program, in the areas of Mathematics, Science, English, Languages, SoSE, Performance Music, Leadership and Sport. All Challenge Programs include community service encouraging students to not only be academically talented but also to share their skills with the wider community.
IT is a focus for 2013 -2014 with a significant investment taking place in infrastructure across the whole school.
Pastoral Care and Enrichment activities are a focus of our school. Our strength in French and Japanese languages also includes overseas excursions and cultural exchanges.
By providing a caring and supportive environment for all students, Campbell High School is able to promote the values of:
· Honesty and Fairness
· Caring Relationships
· Positive Participation
· Personal Challenge and Success
· Personal Growth and Development
Our school uniform is important to us. Our uniform policy is endorsed by the School Board, supported by the P&C and is something we try very hard to uphold. The wearing of uniform unites our student community as a whole group - in much the same way as a sporting team - it says who we are, what we believe in and where we come from. The uniform also provides added security for our students as well as for our teaching staff, who have duty of care responsibility.
We value our relationship with parents and the community and have a strong school board and Parents & Citizens (P & C) group. The P& C work hard to create opportunities to get everyone together. They also run the school canteen with all profits going directly back into the school through P & C grants. So never again feel guilty about giving your child money to buy lunch at the school canteen!
I look forward to meeting you. School tours are available and I am certain you will be impressed by the excellence of our warm and caring environment and dedicated staff.
